Honey Face Mask For Acne-Prone Skin (1/12)

Baking soda is popular among dermatologists because it is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. When you combine it with exfoliating lemon juice and soothing honey, you get a gentle but effective acne-fighting mask.

  • 1 teaspoon lemon
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice, honey, and baking soda. Mix well and apply to the face and neck by softly smoothing it on. Stay away from the area around your eyes (lemon juice and honey will both sting). Do not rub this into your skin to make it a scrub. Remove the mask with warm water first, then cold water after 15 minutes.

Lemon juice should be used with caution because, while it has lightening and brightening properties, it can also make the skin photosensitive. If you’ll be out in the sun soon afterward, thoroughly rinse your face and apply a zinc oxide SPF 30+ sunscreen.
