These delightful no-bake treats are incredibly simple to make, transforming classic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups into whimsical bunny characters. They’re an absolute blast for the entire family, especially when little ones join in the decorating fun. Easter gatherings, spring break activities, or simply a desire for a sweet, creative outlet – these Reese’s bunnies are perfect for any occasion that calls for a touch of edible magic. Unlike traditional baking, this recipe eliminates the need for an oven, making it an ideal choice for a quick dessert or a hassle-free craft session with children. • Perfect for Easter & Spring Celebrations: Whether tucked into Easter baskets, served as a festive dessert at brunch, or given as sweet gifts, these bunnies add a joyful, homemade touch to your holiday.

I’ve been envisioning these little Reese’s Easter Bunnies for quite some time, and it feels wonderful to finally bring them to fruition, just in time for all the Easter festivities! These charming treats are not just a delight to make with the kids during spring break, but I can confidently say, they’re even more fun to eat! For our batch, we decided to use a mix of both white chocolate and regular milk chocolate Reese’s peanut butter cups, offering a lovely visual and flavor variety. You can certainly choose your favorite, or do as we did and mix and match to create a truly unique collection of bunnies.

At first glance, these bunnies might appear to have a lot of moving parts and intricate details. However, I assure you, with a clear step-by-step guide, they come together surprisingly quickly and easily. Knowing exactly what you’re doing makes all the difference, transforming what might seem complex into a simple, enjoyable crafting experience. Let’s dive into the process and create some enchanting Easter treats!

Crafting Your Adorable Reese’s Easter Bunnies: A Detailed Step-by-Step Guide

We’ll start with the ears, which, despite their delicate appearance, are quite straightforward to create. This is a two-step process that provides the perfect foundation for your bunnies’ endearing look.

Step 1: Forming the Basic Ear Shapes

Begin by melting your white (vanilla) candy coating. You can follow the package directions for melting, typically in the microwave or a double boiler. I find it easiest to melt the candy coating in smaller batches, maybe a couple of ounces at a time, to prevent it from hardening too quickly and to ensure a smooth consistency. Once melted, carefully transfer the coating into a sturdy Ziploc bag. If you prefer, you can even melt the candy coating directly in the bag by immersing it in hot water or microwaving on low power in short intervals.

Next, snip off a tiny corner from the Ziploc bag using scissors. The opening should be small enough to allow for precise piping. On a piece of parchment paper, gently squeeze the bag to pipe out your bunny ear shapes. Aim for elongated oval shapes with a slightly rounded or pointed tip. Remember to pipe enough ear sets for each Reese’s Easter Bunny you plan to make, plus a few extra. Having spares is always a good idea in case any don’t turn out exactly as desired or break during handling. Let these white ear shapes harden completely. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes at room temperature, or you can place them in the refrigerator for a quicker set.

Step 2: Adding the Distinctive Pink Inner Ear

Once your white ear bases have fully hardened, it’s time to add the charming pink detail to the inside of each ear. Take a small amount of melted candy coating (you can use pink candy melts or tint a little white coating with a drop of pink food coloring) and, using a fresh piping bag with a tiny snip, or even a toothpick, carefully pipe a small amount onto the center of each white ear, creating the inner ear design. While this pink coating is still wet, generously sprinkle some vibrant pink sugar over it. This adds a beautiful sparkle and a delightful texture. Allow these pink-detailed ears to dry completely before you move on to assembling your bunnies. Your charming bunny ears are now perfectly prepared!

Bringing Your Reese’s Easter Bunnies to Life: Assembly Instructions

Now comes the most exciting part – assembling all the components to create your adorable bunnies! For each individual Reese’s Easter Bunny, you will need the following:

  • Two colorful mini M&M’s, which will serve as the bright, expressive eyes.
  • One soft pink marshmallow, to be cut in half, forming the cute little nose and rosy cheeks.
  • Two small white mini marshmallows, for creating the distinctive puffy bunny feet.
  • A tiny sprinkle of shredded coconut, for a whimsical and fluffy hair tuft on top.
  • Six thin sprinkles or “jimmies” (feel free to choose any color you like!) to form the delicate whiskers on each side of the nose.

Attaching the Ears to the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Body

Take one Reese’s peanut butter cup, which will serve as the bunny’s body. Apply a small amount of melted candy coating to the very bottom edge of each hardened ear. Carefully position and press the ears onto the top edge of the Reese’s cup. Imagine the ears being at the “10 o’clock and 2 o’clock” positions, so they stand upright and are evenly spaced. Hold each ear in place for a few seconds until the candy coating begins to set and the ear feels secure. It’s crucial to let this assembly set completely before moving on to the facial features, as this ensures the ears won’t shift or fall off. A brief stint in the refrigerator can help accelerate the setting process.

Adding the Charming Face and Feet

This is where your bunnies truly gain their unique personality! First, prepare your marshmallow components. Take a pink marshmallow and cut it neatly in half to create two semi-circles; these will form the adorable nose and cheeks. For the white mini marshmallows, trim off the bottom third of each to create a flat base. This flat edge will allow them to sit securely against the Reese’s cup, forming the little feet.

While marshmallows do have a natural stickiness, a tiny dab of melted candy coating works wonders as an edible “glue” to ensure they stay firmly in place. Apply a small amount to the flat side of the pink marshmallow halves and the white marshmallow “feet” before carefully pressing them onto the Reese’s cup. Position the pink halves in the center-top area for the nose and cheeks, and the white feet towards the bottom of the Reese’s cup.

Now, for the eyes and whiskers! Squeeze out a small dot of candy coating onto a clean surface or your parchment paper. Dip one side of each mini M&M into the coating and then carefully place them onto the Reese’s cup as the eyes. Repeat this process for the whiskers: dip the jimmies into the coating and then artfully arrange three on each side of the pink marshmallow nose. Finally, for the fluffy hair tuft, apply a minuscule amount of coating between the ears and gently press a tiny pinch of shredded coconut onto it. Remember, a little goes a long way for a delicate finish! Allow your completed bunnies to set up completely; refrigerating them for 10-15 minutes will help everything solidify beautifully.

Creative Ways to Display Your Adorable Reese’s Easter Bunnies

Once your charming Reese’s Easter Bunnies are fully assembled and have had ample time to set (a quick chill in the refrigerator can really help solidify all the candy coating), it’s time to think about presentation! While simply arranging them on a flat platter is always an option, I personally adore the whimsical effect of having their little ears perked up, as if they’re truly hopping across a festive scene.

Here’s a clever and edible way I discovered to display them standing upright: create a vibrant “Easter grass” base using dyed shredded coconut. It’s incredibly easy to do and adds a fantastic visual pop. Just place your sweetened shredded coconut into a large Ziploc bag, add a few drops of green food coloring (I found this type provides a lovely, natural green), seal the bag, and shake vigorously until the color is evenly distributed throughout the coconut. Spread this beautiful green coconut evenly over your serving platter or board, creating a lush, edible field.

To provide stable support for your bunnies, clear out small circular areas within the coconut “grass” and place large marshmallows. These larger marshmallows are perfect because their size and weight offer excellent stability for the Reese’s Bunnies, ensuring they stand upright without toppling over. The absolute best part? These supportive marshmallows are totally edible, which my boys discovered and absolutely loved munching on after the Easter feast!

Now, simply lean your fully decorated Reese’s Easter Bunnies gently against the supportive large marshmallows, and behold your charming Easter scene:

Aren’t they absolutely adorable? The true beauty of this recipe lies in its flexibility and the freedom it gives you to be creative. There’s truly no “right” or “wrong” way to decorate these bunnies. I had an incredible time experimenting with a variety of different color combinations for the M&M eyes, the sprinkles for whiskers, and even the type of Reese’s cup. Honestly, every single one of them turned out charming and unique. Embrace the fun, let your imagination guide you, and enjoy creating your very own hopping Easter treats!

Ingredients for Your Adorable Reese’s Easter Bunnies (Yields 10 Bunnies)

Gathering all your ingredients is the exciting first step towards creating these delightful Reese’s Easter Bunnies. Most of these items are readily available at your local grocery store, or larger retailers like Target or Walmart. For your convenience, I’ve provided links to the exact products I used on Amazon, but please feel free to source them wherever works best for you!

  • 10 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: Choose between classic regular Reese’s peanut butter cups for that traditional taste or opt for white chocolate Reese’s peanut butter cups for a lighter, sweeter alternative. A mix of both adds wonderful variety!
  • 10 Pink Marshmallows: Look for these in a Fun Mallows bag or a similar assortment. These will be cut in half to create the bunnies’ charming noses and cheeks.
  • 20 White Mini Marshmallows: Essential for crafting the bunnies’ cute, puffy feet.
  • 60 Jimmies (Sprinkles): You’ll need six per bunny for the whiskers. Assorted colors work beautifully – think brown, white, green, pink, or any other festive hue. These varieties are perfect.
  • 16 oz White Candy Coating: This versatile ingredient acts as both the base for the ears and the “glue” for assembly. Popular options include CandiQuik, Ghirardelli melting wafers, or Wilton Candy Melts. Chocolate candy coating can also be used for a different aesthetic.
  • Pink Sugar: To add a lovely shimmer and detail to the inner part of the bunny ears. Fine pink sugar works best.
  • 20 Mini M&M’s: These are perfect for the bunny eyes. Blue, green, or brown M&M’s create a natural, endearing look. A standard bag will have plenty.
  • 1/2 cup Sweetened Shredded Coconut: This will be used for the fluffy hair tuft on each bunny’s head, and it’s also perfect for making the optional green “grass” display. Sweetened coconut adds a nice touch.

Ingredients

  • 10 white chocolate Reese’s peanut butter cups or regular Reese’s peanut butter cups
  • 10 pink marshmallows (from a Fun Mallows bag)
  • 20 white mini marshmallows
  • 60 jimmies (sprinkles of assorted colors – brown, white, green, pink, etc.)
  • 16 oz white candy coating (CandiQuik, Ghirardelli, Wilton or chocolate candy coating)
  • pink sugar
  • 20 mini M&M’s (blue, green, brown)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut

Instructions

Ears

  1. Melt white (vanilla) candy coating following the package directions. It’s often easiest to work with a couple of ounces at a time to keep it from hardening too quickly. Transfer the melted coating into a heavy-duty Ziploc bag.
  2. Snip off a very small corner from the Ziploc bag with scissors to create a fine piping tip. Carefully pipe out the desired ear shapes onto a sheet of parchment paper. Make sure to create enough sets for all your Reese’s Bunnies, plus an extra or two for safety. Allow these to harden completely.
  3. Once the white ear shapes are firm, pipe a small amount of candy coating (either pink melts or white coating dyed pink) onto the inner section of each ear where you want the pink detail. Immediately sprinkle generously with pink sugar and let it dry until firm.

Face and Assembly

  1. Apply a small dab of melted candy coating to the bottom of each hardened ear. Carefully place the ears onto the top edge of a Reese’s peanut butter cup, pressing gently to ensure they are secure and standing upright. Let them set in place.
  2. Cut each pink marshmallow in half to create two semi-circles for the nose/cheeks. Then, trim the bottom third off of each white mini marshmallow to form flat “feet.” Attach these marshmallow pieces to the Reese’s cup. You can use a tiny bit of melted candy coating for extra adhesion if needed.
  3. Squeeze out a tiny amount of candy coating from the bag onto a clean surface. Dip the mini M&M’s (for eyes) and the jimmies (for whiskers) into the coating before carefully positioning them on the Reese’s cup. Apply the coconut hair tuft in the same manner, using only a small amount of coating and shredded coconut for a delicate touch.
  4. Allow all the assembled bunnies to set up completely. Refrigerating them for about 10-15 minutes can significantly speed up this process. For a beautiful display, arrange them on a platter covered with vibrant green coconut “grass,” leaning them against larger marshmallows for stability.
